im surprised he states you'd expect the identical twins would develop the same disorder 100% of the time. Why wouldn't you compare the rate of concordance to the rate of the rest of the population? 30% of the time is much higher than the 1.2% rate of incidence. Almost nothing correlates that strongly and just because you have the same genes doesn't mean that you'll interact with the same things. And many genes prime a reaction that causes a disorder, like a cancer–you can have a high risk of it but if you grow up in a healthy community or somewhere with poisoned water supply, you'll be fine in the first and maybe still have a propensity towards the cancer the more unlucky twin gets.

Often correlations fall between the population rate and 100% like twin studies where one twin is gay–52% of the time, in males, the other twin is gay which is a lot more than the population but suggests there's still some variation (if you ignore the possibility of self selecting bias, let's say). It's possible that a mix of genetic and environmental factors are at play, 30% is a lower correlation but again that shows it's significantly more likely than chance that you'll be schizophrenic.

Not a professional but i just thought that bit was weird–from what i know of statistics that just sounds like sloppy thinking.
