This marks one month, here is my report.
Day 1-3: For some reason the first thing my mind did, was to go over all of my worries and and to-do's; witnessing my mind jump from one thing to the next -for an hour straight. Towards the end of day three, I felt like my mind was done with my ….subconscious list of worries. And man! -I never realised I had this much stuff I kept worrying about, and how many of them do not matter in the slightest. Consciously letting go of some of these felt really good (after the session).
Day 3-7: My mind was sifting through the worries from the previous few days, I tried to let go of the controls, but it was hard when my mind was problem solving.
Day 8-20 I was finally relaxing and looking forward to the next session -letting go of the controls, and witnessing my mind do its thing was easier. My mind stopped going over worries, and started looking at hypotheticals and plans for positive change. ~What if I do this, will I get a promotion… hmm.. but If I focus on enlightenment work instead, No let's do this, etc.
Day 20-30: I realised the previous two weeks were but seeds for future worries. I started letting go of planning as well. My mind started going from "me"-topics, to thinking about other people, and even deeper things. I had a full session pretty much just thinking about what a flower is; it's almost as if after letting go of everything, the mind naturally gravitates towards contemplation (or at least mine did).

Afterwords: I didn't go into this practice thinking it would be so centered around worries.
Make no mistake, I am by no means liberated after this practice. My mind still obsesses over it for the first couple of minutes of each session, especially things that's happened throughout the day. And some of my core worries aren't as much solved as as they are something I can let go of for a while. I still have to work on them, but I feel much more conscious of the things I worry about, and that's the first step towards addressing them.

When I get conscious of the thought-story I'm having during this type of meditation, I sort of resist it. My mind has some sort of short-cut that makes it resist the monkey-mind. So then I say to myself: "Monkey-mind is OK too."' but then the thought story is gone if I don't forcefully try to remember what it was about, and then I just let it go, because I shouldn't control my mind, right?
Is it important to become conscious of the thought stories you have during this type of meditation? And am I responding right when I become conscious of a thought-story?
Also…. am I overthinking this?? I'm trying to improve my meditation skills.

Any help would be appreciated 🙂
